When we first moved into our house, we had to completely re-decorate it. It was pretty much a shell (see more that here). We wanted a feature wall in the living room and decided to go for a very bold purple. After we'd done it, we both thought it was pretty dark but couldn't be bothered to change it. So it stayed like this for about 2 years -
At the start of 2013, we decided it was finally time for a change! It had nothing to do with the fact that Laura Ashley had a sale on all their wall paper.... hmmm ok maybe it did.
After much deliberation, we chose one, which at the time I wasn't completely sure of. But once it was all up I LOVED it. I think it really works well with the rest of the room. It's amazing how much changing one wall has brightened the room. It feels so much bigger!
The wall paper was half price (£15 per roll) then we also spotted a few bits in the Next sale as well, including this cute 'Love' sign. Don't ya just love a bargain?!
By the way, that's not mold on the carpet, it's the left over stain from when Aniah had the little artistic explosion all over the living room carpet (see here for a better idea of her creativity)
All I keep thinking now is - Why on earth did we wait so long before changing it?!
It's lovely, we went from olive green to stone, and wished we'd done it so much sooner! Light makes so much difference to a room!
